How To Make Nail Stamping Decals + My New Year's Mani

Tuesday, December 31, 2013

Hola!

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas! I wish you a Happy New Year full of happiness, success & good health!

Today I want to share with you guys how to make nail stamping decals.  I learned this on Instagram and on YouTube.  I would love to know who started this wonderful stamping technique, but I don't know who to credit.   I will however show you how I make them.  This is much more easier than the Advance stamping technique I show here a few months back.  There is a lot of wonderful videos on YouTube on how to make them, just search for nail stamping decals.  Remember everyone does them differently, you just have to try them and see which method is right for you. :)

This is my New Year's mani that I posted on Instagram using nail stamping decals.

Colors:  Black- China Glaze Liquid Leather, Gold- Bettina Glamour Celebrate & Purple- Bettina Prestige.
Nail Stamping Plates:  Gals GA-39, GA-40, Winstonia W117 & Cheeky jumbo plate 6.
Stamping colors:  Bettina Champagne & Konad White.

I made the nail stamping decals only for the numbers, not for the Champagne glasses.  I filled in the Champagne glasses using a dotting tool and gold polish.  I could have definitely done the same with the numbers but I know I would had made a mess. lol :)

Here are the steps:

1.  Stamp the image using your favorite polish.  I used Konad Black.
2. Fill in the color of the image.  I used Bettina Prestige.  You can also use a dotting tool for this step.
3.  Here you can see the image with color. I let it dry a little before the next step.
4.  Apply a top coat over the design and let it dry.
5.  After it dries, remove carefully with tweezers.
6.  Yay!  You have a nail stamping decal, but wait your not finish...
7.  Cut around your decal using small scissors.  Try to cut very closely and very carefully around your image.
8.  Apply your decal on your nail.  I apply light pressure over the decal so it molds on my nail.
9.  Finally you apply your favorite top coat.  Try to apply a thick coat and try not to reapply over the same area if it's still wet. You might smear the design.  If any area is sticking up gently push down with the brush.  Then after your first coat dries, just reapply your top coat.  :)

I really hope you enjoyed my post and that it helps you understand how to make nail stamping decals.

Happy Stamping :)  Hasta Luego!

2013 Gals "Princes Set"

Thursday, December 19, 2013

¡Hola!

I recently purchased the 2013 Gals Princes Set and wanted to share with you swatches and designs I created with them.  I purchased them from Amazon here, but you can also purchase them on Cheeky's website here.  They sell for around $12 and you get 25 plates.  That's only .48 cents a plate.

There are a lot of mixed reviews on amazon and honestly that was one of the main reasons I took so long to purchase them.  Fortunately I had no problem with them, they stamped beautifully.  I really like the geometrical patterns.  They are mostly full nail images as you see below:

I believe that a picture is worth a thousand word, so I took the time to swatch each plate using Wet n Wild Black Crème.  The picture will demonstrate that they do indeed stamp beautifully.

Here are some simple mani's I posted on Instagram using the Gals Princes Set:

1.  Colors used:  Rimmel Sage All The Rage as my base, plate GA14 & China Glaze Con-fused.

2.  Colors used:  Orly Sea Girl for my base, plate GA4 & China Glaze Split Perso-nail-ity.  Ring finger:  @kraftygurldesigns  Totally Rad over Zoya Raven.

3.  Colors used:  Finger Paints It's an Original as my base, plate GA6 & China Glaze Modify Me.

4.  Colors used:  China Glaze holographic Get Outta My Space, plate GA12 & China Glaze magnetix Positively in Love.

As you see in the pictures above the plates are very good. I really love they way stamped.  Luckily I had no problem with them, but I do advise you, if you ever get a plate that doesn't stamp or is badly etch you should immediately call customer service, they should be able to help you out.

Finally the size of these plates.  They are slightly smaller than Pueen plates.  Here is a pic of the measurement using inches.

I really hope my post helps you out.  I tried my best to show you in photos the quality and size of these plates.  What do you think of them?  Will you be purchasing them, please leave me a comment below.

¡Hasta luego!

First let me show you the plates:

I purchased these plates a year ago on aliexpress.  I checked my order history on my account and this is the seller who sold them to me: click here , but on Aliexpress there are many sellers, therefore I advise you to search and read all the feedback before buying.  :)

Here are some manis I created with them:

Colors used:
1.  I painted all my nails China Glaze So Blue Without you as my base color.
2. I applied the glitter, China Glaze Bells Will Be Blinging,
3.  I used stamping plates AT-03, AT-05, AT-09
4.  Stamping polishes:  Sally Hansen Silver Sweep & konad White.
5.    China Glaze There's Snow One Like You for the snow.

Colors used:
1.  I applied Zoya Raven.
2.  Used stamping plates AT-03, AT-05, AT-06, AT-07, AT-09
